gabi. by Gabrielle Kruger is a playful and sometimes experimental design studio focussed on creating accessible and affordable art objects and functional design products from paint and other leftover materials in the artist’s studio.

Gabrielle Kruger is a South African artist who has developed a practice which pushes the conventions of traditional painting through a masterful handling of her own unique formula of acrylic paint, which she works within a sculptural manner by extruding and drying pieces of paint to assemble to painting.

Gabrielle Kruger was born in 1993 in Cape Town, South Africa, where she currently lives and works. After graduating from Stellenbosch University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2015, she earned her Masters in Fine Arts from Michaelis School of Fine Art at University of Cape Town in 2018.
